Clarendon woman dies in car accident

CLARENDON — A local woman died from injuries resulting from a car accident on Monday last week. Troopers from the Rutland Vermont State Police Barracks responded to a two-vehicle crash at the U.S. Route 7 and Vt. Route 7B intersection in Clarendon, Vt. Troopers say Susan Allard of Clarendon, Vt. entered U.S. Route 7 and into the path of the International truck driven by Terry Gordon of Sumter, S.C. Gordon was unable to avoid a collision with the 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe and struck the driver’s side of Allard’s vehicle.
The 21-year-old Allard was transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased on arrival.
Troopers were assisted on scene by the Clarendon Volunteer Fire Department, Regional Ambulance Service and VTrans.
