Man gets pinned underwater by ATV, drowns

TINMOUTH—On Sept. 9 at approximately 2:32 p.m. member of the Vermont State Police-Rutland Barracks, Danby Fire Department, Tinmouth Fire Department and Regional Ambulance Service responded to a single ATV incident on a trail off Tinmouth Pond Road in the town of Tinmouth.
Preliminary investigation revealed Clifford G. Bushee Jr., age 64 from Tinmouth was driving his ATV on a trail off of Tinmouth Pond Road and was attempting to cross a brook. While attempting to cross a small bridge over the brook, the ATV overturned into the water. The ATV pinned Bushee underneath the water.
Clifford G. Bushee was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Vermont State Police are continuing to investigate this incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact Trooper Jonathan Hall, at 802-773-9101.
