Think you know Killington? Text your knowledge at the Photo Scavenger Hunt

Winning team gets $250 cash

KILLINGTON—The Sherburne Memorial Library and the Sherburne Historians are hosting a Killington Photo Scavenger Hunt scheduled for the second weekend in September (Sept. 9-12).  Teams of three or more can register at the library to participate. Registration is free. The scavenger hunt is open to all ages and you do not have to be a resident of Killington to participate. Registration deadline is Sept. 1.
Rules of the game
On Friday, Sept. 9, at 5 p.m. a list of 40 photo opportunities will be listed on the Historians page of the library website (www.sherburnelibrary.org). Each photo suggestion will have a point value. Teams must choose 20 of the 40 photos to take with the team. All team members must be in the photo except for the member taking the picture.
On Monday, participants will need to bring in the photos, with a list of the items each team chose to photograph, to the library. Alternatively, teams can email the photos or send a link to where the photos are stored as long as each photo is labeled with the number corresponding on the list. Points will be calculated and the team with the most points wins a cash prize of $250.
Sample challenge: Take a photo of your team with a dragon: 20 points.  Take a photo of your team in front of the oldest structure in town: 35 points.
“We are hoping that the scavenger hunt will allow folks to have fun taking some silly pictures and, in the process, learn a little about the history of the area,” said Librarian Jane Ramos.
