Brandon Artists Guild opens all-member show celebrating autumn

Friday, Sept. 2 at 5 p.m.—BRANDON—Brandon Artists Guild ushers in the highest season in Vermont with an all-member show, “Colors of Fall.” The exhibit—on display from Sept. 1 through Oct. 31— features a collection of work done in many different media, including paintings in oil, watercolor, acrylics, and pastel. Also, mixed media, mobiles, ceramics, stoneware, wood carvings, assemblages, fused glass, stained glass, jewelry, and photography will be included. An opening reception will be held Friday, Sept. 2 from 5 to 7 p.m.
The Brandon Artists Guild represents artists from within the state of Vermont that go through a jury process for acceptance, and are always seeking new members.
Judith Reilly, an internationally known fiber artist, will be showing “Rainbow Leaves,” a new style of work using bold and bright colors and patterns.
Layered translucent leaves in watercolor will be featured in Joan Drew’s “Colors of Autumn.”
New member Christine Holzschuh is known for her small size canvas figure oil paintings. States Holzschuh, “Although I mostly paint figures, I love going out and attempting to capture the beauty of Vermont on site with the challenges of temperature, wind and weather. When I look back at them I remember the sensory impression as much as the place and hope some of that is communicated to the viewer. What is better than a campfire in the cool fall air with the reflection of the trees on a pond?”
Brandon Artists Guild is located at 7 Center St., Brandon. For more information, call 802-247-4956 or visit brandonartistsguild.org.
