Friday, Saturday & Sunday, Aug. 26-28—LUDLOW—This weekend motorized vehicles past and present is the theme for three days of activities and events in the Okemo Valley, from Friday through Sunday, Aug. 26-28, beginning with a cruise-in and Best Chevy contest, to a show of antique and classic autos and motorcycles, ending with the Okemo Valley Car Show and awards ceremony.
Friday, Aug. 26, 3 p.m.—The weekend kicks off rain or shine with a rally-scavenger hunt, followed by a Cruise In at Benson’s Chevrolet in downtown Ludlow and early car/motorcycle show registration from 5-7 p.m. The trophy for Best Chevy will be awarded at the Cruise In. The first 50 people to register will receive dash plates and cookies from Big Eyes Bakery. Pizza will be for sale from Goodman’s American Pie.
The scavenger hunt will take about one hour and cover about thirty miles on mostly paved roads. All are welcome to participate. Pick up clues at the Okemo Valley Chamber of Commerce office anytime after 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26. Your answer sheet will be collected at the Cruise-in Friday night.
Saturday & Sunday, Aug. 27-28, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.—The Okemo Valley Antique & Classic Car/Motorcycle Show will be held at the Fletcher Farm School for the Arts and Crafts on Route 103. Cars and motorcycles from the 1910s to 1989 will be represented and judged. Car enthusiasts, novices, family and friends will have the opportunity to view the antique cars, motorcycles and classic cars and can vote for their favorite car in the “People’s Choice” competition. Admission to the show is $5.
At 3 p.m. the Okemo Valley Car Show parade will proceed to the Chester Green for more fun, a pie eating contest, car viewing, various activities and vendors.
Make sure the kids get a chance to visit the Route 103 Auto Repair booth to play with remote control cars for a donation of your choice, which will then be donated to a local charity of their choice.
Sunday, Aug. 28, 2 p.m.— the awards ceremony will be held for Best in Show, 20 People’s Choice, and special awards for oldest bike, best engine, most original, best paint and best interior.
