Killington Police Department shares media log for July

Killington police responded to the following incidents from July 1 at 7:30 a.m. to July 29 at 10:09 p.m., according to Killington Police Chief Whit Montgomery.
July 29 at 10:09 p.m. Killington police responded to a suspicious event at Old Coach Road. The subject had called police to report a vehicle was following him around his neighborhood.
July 28 at 9:58 p.m. Killington police conducted a traffic stop on Killington Road at Killington Center Inn and Suites.
July 27 at 3:56 p.m. Killington police responded to a car accident with three injured persons on Route 4. The two car crash occurred on top of the Sherburne pass.
July 27 at 1:51 p.m. Killington police responded to a report of trespassing. A neighbor was upset that an excavating company, while working at his neighbors, filled in a small gully in a shared gravel driveway, in his right of way.
July 24 at 1:09 p.m. Killington police responded to a report of lost property on Killington Road. The subject reported the loss of a wallet left at a restaurant after dinner on July 21. The wallet has not been located or turned in, police reported.
July 23 at 10:19 p.m. Killington police conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Killington Road and Anthony Way.
July 23 at 5:19 p.m. Killington police responded to Cricket Hill Road where a large tree had fallen and was partially blocking the road. The tree also took down power and telephone lines and was lying on top of them. Police stood by for GMP.
July 22 at 5:51 p.m. Killington police responded to a report of vandalism and possible burglary on Route 100 South. Police observed that the front glass slider door had been broken out. The property owner advised nothing was missing but all the kitchen cupboards and bedroom dresser drawers had been opened and rummaged through.
July 22 at 5:23 p.m. Killington police responded to an animal problem on George Street.
Dispatch let police know that they received a call from Urgent Care of Rutland, that a patient just left with a dog bite. Urgent Care told dispatch that they live in Killington. It is unknown if the dog had its rabies shots or not.
July 21 at 7:55 p.m. Killington police conducted a traffic stop near ERA Mountain Real Estate.

July 21 at 3:24 p.m. Killington police responded to a car accident on Route 4. A vehicle traveling west on Route 4 at a hight rate of speed went left of center in front of the Waterwheel almost striking a truck head on, crossed the lawn, struck the fence and continued approximately 150 yards west almost striking a telephone pole. The vehicle then entered the roadway again almost striking a camper van. The vehicle continued west bound.
July 20 at 1 p.m. Killington police conducted a traffic stop on Killington Road  near The Wobbly Barn
July 20 at 7:35 a.m. Killington police responded to a larceny call from the Kent Pond Fishing Access on Route 100. The subject called to advise that their two kayaks had been left at Kent Pond Fishing Access on Route 100 north at noon on July 19. They discovered them stolen at 6 a.m. on July 20. The kayaks were valued at $350 total.
July 19 at 5:18 p.m. Killington police responded to a 911 hangup call from South View Path. Police went to the property, saw that it was secure and reported no signs of activity at the property.
On July 18 at 6:42 p.m. Killington police responded to property damage at Thundering Brook Road including a broken window at the rear of the “stone house on Thundering Brook Rd.” Police responded, located property and discovered that the front door was unlocked and not secure. Police conducted a search of the property and did not notice anything obvious missing. Police retrieved owners contact information from prior property manager, then contacted owner and advised him of findings.
July 17 at 8:07 a.m. Killington police provided traffic detail for Farm to Fork Fondo event. Lead 450 bicycles to the junction of Route 100 North and Route 107.
July 16 at 4:04 p.m. Killington police conducted a traffic stop on Killington Road.
July 16 at 3:13 p.m. Killington police conducted a traffic stop on Killington Road.
July 16 at 1:18 p.m. Killington police conducted a traffic stop on Route 4 near Winterberry Road.
July 16 at 5:39 p.m. Killington police responded to a report of vandalism on Route 4 at Fox Hollow. Police found a vehicle with a broken window. It was found to be in Mendon so the case was transferred to the Vermont State Police.
July 16 at 4:22 p.m. Killington police conducted a traffic stop on Killington Road near Anthony Way.
July 16 at 4:11 p.m. Killington police responded to an report of an animal problem on Killington Road. Police found dogs locked in a hot car. The outside temperature was 70 degrees and the dogs were not in distress.
July 16 at 4:04 p.m. Killington police conducted a traffic stop on East Mountain Road.
July 16 at 3:13 p.m. Killington police conducted a traffic stop on East Mountain Road.
July 16 at 1:18 p.m. Killington police responded to a noise complaint on Roaring Brook Road. The subject reported a firearms discharge occurring in violation of town ordinance. Police found that the shooting actually occurring in area not covered by ordinance.
July 15 at 4:05 p.m. Killington police conducted a traffic stop on West Hill Road.
July 15 at 3 p.m. Killington police conducted a traffic stop on Killington Road near Anthony Way.
July 15 at 12:40 p.m. Killington police assisted the DMV with a traffic stop on Route 4 on the Flats.
July 15 at 12:10 p.m. Killington police conducted a traffic stop on Killington Road near The Foundry.
July 14 at 9:04 p.m. Killington police responded to a report of illegal dumping on Rim Road. Police found bags of trash left at the end of Rim Road but were unable to locate subject who left the trash.
July 14 at 8:50 p.m. Killington police responded to a report of a tree across Floral Drive blocking the travel portion of the road. Police removed tree from the road.
July 14 at 6:31 p.m. Killington police responded to a disturbance at Old Mill Road. A staff member of the music festival located at The Mountain Inn called to report a “grungy looking male with a beard” came to the property wanting to stay. The complainant advised that when he was denied access due to it being a private function, he became agitated and disgruntled. The complainant stated he finally left and walk north down Killington Road. Police were unable to locate subject.
July 14 at 4:20 p.m. Killington police conducted a traffic stop on Killington Road near West Hill Road.
July 14 at 3:10 p.m. Killington police conducted a traffic stop on Route 4 near Pico.
July 14 at 12:20 p.m. Killington police conducted a traffic stop on Killington Road near Anthony Way.
July 14 at 11:05 a.m. Killington conducted a traffic stop on Killington Road near Anthony Way.
July 14 at 9:40 a.m. Killington police conducted a traffic stop on Barrows Towne Road.
July 13 at 3:09 p.m. Killington police responded to a request for assistance to the Vermont State Police in locating Mr. Mason who was last seen at Killington Fire Department. His direction of travel was unknown. Police checked Route 100 south for VSP to see if vehicle or subject could be located.
July 13 at 12:10 p.m. Killington police responded to a VIN verification at Cedarbrook.
July 13 at 9:30 a.m. Killington police responded to a report of a missing person on East Mountain Road. The subject called to report his roommate was missing, who had been suffering from addiction abuse. It was later discovered that his mother had picked him up and taken him to Brattleboro Retreat for addiction treatment.
July 9 at 9:17 p.m. Killington police responded to a call from a property owner on Route 100 North who welcomed two subjects into his inn after they experienced vehicle issues. He then became suspicious that the two subjects were experiencing a mental emergency. Pittsfield Constables responded. The subjects were transported by ambulance.
July 9 at 6:21 p.m. Killington police provided foot patrol for the “Dirty Girl Mud Run” event. While there management and Green Mountain Security received a complaint that males were attempting to view females showering in the “hose down” section of the course. Police walked to the area but did not observe any males in the area.
July 9 at 2:30 p.m. Killington police responded to a call for assistance at the Killington Grand Hotel.
July 8 at 10:59 p.m. Killington police conducted a traffic stop on Route 4 near Goodro Lumber. A Be On the Lookout (BOL) was issued from dispatch regarding a male involved with a domestic disturbance in Mendon. Police located the vehicle, identified the operator and waited for VSP to arrive.
July 8 at 7:54 p.m. Killington police responded to an accident where the subjects left the scene on Route 4.
