Theft reported at Appalachian Trail lot

SHREWSBURY—On July 24 at 7:58 p.m. troopers from the Vermont State Police Rutland Barracks responded to a complaint of a theft from a motor vehicle at 2000 Vermont Route 103, an Appalachian Trail parking lot in the town of Shrewsbury.

According to the victim, the incident took place between 3 and 5 p.m. Entry was gained into the vehicle through a broken window, police reported, and several personal items were taken from the motor vehicle, including cash. Anyone with information is asked to contact Trooper Freire at the Rutland Barracks. The violation was listed as grand larceny and unlawful mischief, according to the police report.
