Saturday, July 23 at 2:30 p.m.—MANCHESTER—It’s been said that the annual Vermont Race for the Cure is a tough act to follow. Until now. This year’s race, on July 23 beginning at 2:30 p.m., is followed by a rare live performance by one of the greatest vocalists of all time and a living folk legend, Judy Collins, in “A Concert for the Cure—An Evening with Judy Collins,” presented by Stratton Magazine and Stratton Mountain.
“In effect,” said Terry Farkas, executive director of Komen VT-NH, “you can run or walk the race on Saturday morning, grab a bite to eat, and head up to Stratton to continue your show of support for local women and families touched by breast cancer at the show of a lifetime, the ‘Concert for the Cure—An Evening with Judy Collins.’ It’s one more way the entire family can team up in the fight to end breast cancer forever.”
Doors open at 2:30 p.m. with Syd Straw on stage at 3 p.m., followed by the legendary Judy Collins, live at the base of Stratton Mountain. Tickets are $20 in advance at stratton.com; $25 at the door.
Register for the race (or join a team) online at komenvtnh.org. As ever, 75 percent of all net monies raised at the race will be granted to breast cancer education, treatment and screening programs in Vermont and New Hampshire while the remaining 25 percent will be dedicated to global breast cancer research.
