Saturday, July 23 at 9:30 a.m.—BELMONT—Enjoy diverse, high altitude gardens, including a wide range of perennials, organic vegetables, and creative landscaping ideas during the 10th annual Mt. Holly Garden Tour on Saturday, July 23 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. This self-guided tour features strolls through woodland gardens and vistas from upland gardens.
Many gardeners have designed creations around natural features in the landscape, including huge rock formations and ledges. One of the gardens on the tour has consistently displayed a dozen or so colorful quilts among flower beds. The gardener is not just a master gardener, but a master quilter as well.
A special Garden Hunt will keep children occupied as the grownups explore the gardens.
Tickets, a map of the garden sites, and garden hunt guides for the kids can be purchased the day of the tour at the Mount Holly Library and Community Center on the Green in Belmont for $12 (age 12 and under are free). The Belmont General Store provides special garden tour lunches to take and enjoy. The event is rain or shine. For info, email lindaddmiller@aol.com.
