KILLINGTON — The West Hill Road slip lane will be closed for the next two months, according to Killington’s road and facilities manager, Chet Hagenbarth.
“It’s safer that way,” he said. “It doesn’t affect traffic flow, especially at this time of year, so it’s safer to have it closed.”
Hagenbarth said the town saw an opportunity to save some money while working on another project recently, the Bigelow/Priscilla Street lane.
“We had an opportunity to do some milling without having to pay anything extra,” he said. “We had the milling machine for a half-day minimum, and he was finished in three hours. We had one hour left.”
The slight dropoff makes the slip lane dangerous for motorcycles, Hagenbarth said.
The remaining work on the Bigelow/Priscilla Street projects, he said, will take place between Aug. 15 and Sept. 1
