Schools offer summer breakfast-lunch program

Fair Haven Grade School and Wells Village School both offer breakfast and lunch to children age 18 or younger through Aug. 5. Fair Haven offers breakfast, 8-9 a.m., and lunch, 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m., five days a week. Wells Village School offers breakfast, 8:00 to 8:30 a.m. and lunch, 11:30 a.m.-noon, Tuesdays and Thursdays. The food program is an effort of 3SquaresVT, a U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) program administered by the Vermont Department for Children and Families, Economic Services Division.

New members join Castleton planning commission

CASTLETON—Castleton’s Select Board chose two members for its town planning commission at the Board’s June 27 meeting. Appointed to three-year terms were Joe Bruno and Jon Pintello. It also appointed Robert Day and D. Kirk Israel to three-year terms and Gordon Chader to a one-year term. Although John Hale was also nominated for a three-year development review board term, the Board disagreed on returning him to that seat, with a vote of two yeas and three nays.

Habitat house work continues with volunteer help

FAIR HAVEN—Volunteers continue to work on the Habitat for Humanity house rehabilitation at 30 West Street, Fair Haven, working Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout the month of July. The group is using SignUp.com to help organize volunteer hours.
