“Vermont’s Own” 40th Army Band will perform a patriotic musical show as part of Concerts in the Park series.
Thursday, July 7 at 7 p.m. — FAIR HAVEN — The Vermont National Guard and the Office of the Adjutant General are proud to present “Vermont’s Own” 40th Army Band for its 2016 summer tour. The Fair Haven Concerts in the Park will be welcoming them on Thursday, July 7 as part of that tour. Like all the concerts in the park, this free concert will begin at 7 p.m. The band will perform at the north end of the park this week, and there will be no intermission. A 50/50 raffle will be held and the drawing will be held at the end of the concert.
Members of the 40th Army Band serve one weekend a month and two weeks of annual training each year in the Vermont Army National Guard. As civilians the rest of the year, they are engaged in such diverse occupations as education, law, security, technology, medicine, and sales. The concert will feature traditional patriotic American tunes, as well as contemporary musical favorites.
The Fair Haven Concerts in the Park are free and family friendly. Bring a lawn chair any time after 5 p.m. Picnic tables make it easy for families who want to pack a picnic dinner. Hot dogs, soda, water, and popcorn are all available for purchase. The concerts go on rain or shine. The rain or inclement weather location is the Fair Haven Baptist Church located at the south end of the park.
