Apres-ride party features multiple bands set to entertain Long Trail Century riders and fans

Saturday, June 25 at 11 a.m. — BRIDGEWATER — The Pete Kilpatrick Band, Sonic Malfunktion and local favorite, “DJ Dave” Hoffenberg, highlight the entertainment line-up at the après-ride party for the 6th Annual Long Trail Century Ride to benefit Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports Saturday, June 25.

Over 40 cyclists with disabilities and their assistants, and over 600 cyclists are expected to turn out for the cause, which has been honored with a 2016 Black Diamond Award for the Best Road Biking Race or Tour in Vermont as voted by Vermont Sports readers. Oganizers of the annual fundraiser hope to raise more than $225,000 for adaptive sports programming, expensive adaptive equipment and scholarships.

Gates open at 11 a.m. at Long Trail Brewery. Live music and a full summer barbecue begin at 1 p.m.

Throughout the afternoon there will be a kids area hosted by the staff at Killington Parks and Recreation, complete with giant Jenga, a slackline, crafts, games and more. Moira McKenzie will provide face painting again and at 3 p.m. Magician Tom Joyce will entertain with his magical and humorous show. There will be a farmer’s market-style vendor village, the Lazy Cow ice cream, a VW photobooth, silent auction, and of course, great Long Trail on tap.

Tickets at the door are $15/adults and $10 for kids 12 and under. Children ages 6 and under are free with an accompanying adult. Entrance includes live music and the barbecue. The event is held rain or shine.
“We believe sports and recreation provide a physical, mental and social experience that is immeasurable in promoting self-confidence and independence in an individual,” said organizer Erin Fernandez. “We extend an enormous thanks to Phil Black and his crew at the Lookout Tavern for starting this ride for us, and to Long Trail and also to Killington Resort, who help us to provide an event of this caliber.”

Walk-in registrations to ride will be taken at Killington’s Snowshed Base Lodge on Friday, June 24 from 12– 8 p.m. Or on Saturday morning at the brewery. For more info, visit longtrailcenturyride.com.
