Malley and Manney join Habitat for Humanity board

Dick Malley and Jeff Manney are new Habitat for Humanity of Rutland County, Vt., board members.

The board of Habitat for Humanity of Rutland County is pleased to announce new members Dick Malley and Jeff Manney. “Dick and Jeff each have extensive experience in working in housing in Vermont, and we welcome their expertise and energy,” said Chris Heintz, Habitat Board president.

Malley recently retired as executive director of the Bennington Area Habitat for Humanity affiliate. “But I couldn’t stay away from Habitat work for long!” said Malley.  He has extensive experience as an educator in New Jersey, Massachusetts and Vermont, including Burr and Burton Academy in Manchester, and the Stratton Foundation in Bondville. “I look forward to helping Habitat for Humanity of Rutland County, Vt. become a thriving and sustainable affiliate,” Malley said.

As an energy consultant for Efficiency Vermont since 2006, Manney has worked with builders, home performance contractors, architects, and other professionals to ensure their homes and businesses are in compliance with energy and other building codes—in addition to providing technical assistance for even greater levels of energy efficiency. He has worked in the field since 1997.

“I am excited to be a part of the burgeoning Rutland County Habitat for Humanity and look forward to helping this organization and the local families they serve in whatever capacity I can,” said Manney.

Habitat for Humanity of Rutland County is currently rehabilitating a house on 30 West St. in Fair Haven. “We plan to finish this house in time for the family to enjoy their first Thanksgiving in their new home,” said Chris Heintz.
