The Vermont State Police participated in the national “Click It or Ticket it” campaign; as well as Operation C.A.R.E. (Combined Accident Reduction Effort) over the Memorial holiday week from Monday, May 23 until Monday, May 30, 2016.
Unfortunately, there were three fatal crashes resulting in four deaths on Vermont roadways this holiday weekend. There have been 28 total fatalities in Vermont this year to date. This year, 50 percent of the fatalities have either been unbelted or improperly restrained.
Summer campaign
The Vermont State Police will be initiating a new campaign starting in early June and continuing through the summer months to specifically address enforcement in speed and aggressive driving. More information on this campaign will be released next week.
