VFW Loyalty Day Parade Thank You

Thanks to all the people who helped out for the rained out 53RD VFW Post 648 Loyalty Day Parade Sunday May 1st , 2016. We are very sorry that we couldn’t  provide a Parade this year. Mark your Calendar for Sunday May 7th 2017. If any group would like to join us next year please call me at 802-558-3965, as there are certain rules for the parade.

This was only the second Parade that has ever been canceled since 1963.

A very special Special Thanks to Sam Gorruso from Sam’s Good News who got on the phone and made a lot of phone calls to notify The Police, DPW, Peg TV, Radio Stations &The Fire Departments. The word got out very quickly on the scanners about the cancellation of the Parade and to join the Luncheon & dancing at the VFW.

Thanks to the VFW Post 648 Auxiliary and all their helpers for their great buffet luncheon & to John Saltis from Penquin Production as the DJ playing the songs every body wanted to hear.

The VFW Bartenders Tracy Townsend & Michelle Moyer for a great job behind the bar.

To Jay Eugair from Central Vermont Motorcycles for of their ATV’S and all the drivers who agreed to drive. Jayson & Tyler Eugair , Amy & Riley Eugair, Sarah & Tyler, Howard & Nancy Lear, Lisa Maxham, Craig Brothers & Son Mason,Thanks for your support.

To Sam’s Good News , The Mountain Times, Rutland Herald, The local radio stations WSYB 1380, 94-5 The Drive, Cat Country, WJJR, Mix 98.1 & Z97.1 & Peg TV for all their help promoting the parade, thank you very much.

The Rutland Department of Public Works for setting up the streets and for the use of the reviewing stand and to The Rutland Police Department for all they do to help us.

Thank you to my wife Mary Ann Fairbanks, my Daughter Charity and her 3 children Cassandra, Kaylee & Ashlyn for helping me at home getting things ready.

VFW Post 648 Rutland, Vt. wants to give a great big thanks to all units who attend these Loyalty Day Parades and all the people who attend & support the parades every year. You all are the ones who make this Loyalty Day Parade a enjoyable event. We had around 150 Vehicles & about 1150 people signed up to be in the parade.

We hope that all the groups, School Bands and our Judges of John Socinski, Henry Socinski, John Sabatso & Glen Giles will join us in 2017

Remember, Parade is always First Sunday in May.

The 53RD Loyalty Day Parade will be Sunday May 7th 2017
