May — WEST PAWLET — Mettawee Community School’s “ Heart & Sole ” program (registered part of Girls on the Run Vermont, Inc.) is holding a sneaker and shoe drive during the month of May for the benefit of various area shelters. The 5th and 6th grade girls of MCS’ Heart & Sole program ask the public to look through footwear and see if there is a pair or two of gently used clean sneakers or other day-wear shoes that could be donated to this drive. Sneakers and shoes may be dropped off at Mettawee Community School located at 5788 VT- 153, West Pawlet, during school hours: weekdays, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Wednesday, May 25. The Heart & Sole group will distribute donated sneakers and shoes to various area shelters at the end of the month.
