NeighborWorks of Western Vermont needs your vote

RUTLAND—NeighborWorks of Western Vermont has entered the Seeds of Change grant program for an opportunity to win either a $20,000 or $10,000 grant and is asking the community to get out and support its application.

The grant program aims to enhance the environmental, economic and social wellbeing of gardens, farms and communities. The grants will be awarded to organizations that help support sustainable, community-based gardening and farming programs that focus on teaching people about the food they eat and how it’s grown.

NeighborWorks submitted an application highlighting how it would use a Seeds of Change grant to develop and sustain an after-school and summer youth education program in the new Northwest Rutland Community Garden, located at the corner of Baxter Street and Park Ave.

From now through April 18, the community can vote to support this local gardening program by visiting seedsofchangegrant.com/GalleryDetail.aspx?id=1813.

The top 50 organizations with the most votes will move on to final judging. Around May 3, Seeds of Change will announce 12 school recipients and 12 community recipients.
