Fair Haven, Otter Valley compete for “Academic Showdown” championship

Rutland—PEGTV’s new weekly half-hour quiz show “ Academic Showdown,” featuring eight local high schools, has just wrapped up the semifinal rounds of competition, and the winning teams have moved on to the championship match.

Teams of three from Fair Haven Union High School and Otter Valley Union High School have advanced to the championship showdown. Fair Haven made its way by beating Rutland and Proctor while Otter Valley defeated Stafford Tech and West Rutland. The final game to vie for the title, trophy and $500 contribution to their choice of school fund is set for April 7.

“Academic Showdown” is filmed before a live studio audience. Those who would like to be a part of the audience may call PEGTV at (802) 747-0151.

The show airs Thursday night on PEGTV Channel 20 at 7 p.m. and is hosted by Mitch Golub.

New donut shop opening in Ludlow
