Friday, April 8 at 6 p.m. — CASTLETON — The Castleton Downtown Gallery in Rutland will feature the works of local artist Harry Bliss running from March 30 through April 30, with an artist reception scheduled for Friday, April 8 at 6 p.m.
Entitled “Inspiring Bliss: Selected Works from the Collection of Harry Bliss” the exhibit will feature a variety of works from Bliss’ personal collection.
“These pieces have inspired me for many years, yet aside from a few friends and family, they have remained out of view,” said Bliss. “I feel it’s my responsibility to give everyone a chance to appreciate the hilarious and sublime craftsmanship of all the artists in my collection.”
Some of the art in the exhibition include works by Charles Addams, William Steig, Maurice Sendak, Jack Kirby, Al Hirschfeld, Garth Williams, Robert Grossman, Walt Kelly, Gene Colan, Jack Davis, Robert Crumb and more.
The Castleton Downtown Gallery is located on Center Street Alley in Rutland and is open Wednesday through Saturday with hours of operation from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. For more info, email galleries@castleton.edu.
