Thursday, April 7 at 7 p.m. — CASTLETON — Castleton University presents the award-winning production of a one-man play entitled “ RFK ” starring renowned Denver, Colo. theatre actor James O’Hagan-Murphy on Thursday, April 7 at 7 p.m. in the Casella Theater.
This emotional performance, written by James Holmes, captures the true essence of the young Bobby Kennedy and the historical events he witnessed and participated in during the 1960s. O’Hagan-Murphy brilliantly portrays Robert Kennedy’s personal, internal struggles and emotional demeanor while also nailing Kennedy’s famous physicality, voice, and mannerisms.
No stranger to the Kennedy family, having previously played Joe Kennedy Jr. in the play “Grey Gardens,” O’Hagan-Murphy has performed in “RFK” more than 200 times and says that he especially enjoys giving the audience an opportunity to “travel back in time” to experience Bobby’s grief, humor, and hunger for power and justice.
Such a compelling play, the Denver Post gave it 3 ½ stars out of 4.
