PITTSFIELD — Crafters and vendors are invited to participate in the Pittsfield Crafts on the Green event to be held on the Town Green in May 2016. The purpose will be to provide a venue for Pittsfield and surrounding community artists and crafts people to show and sell their products. The event will be open for one day, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 28 (Memorial Day weekend). The event will be limited to 50 vendors to set up display tables/tents to showcase their products. Vendors will be responsible for leaving their display and surrounding area as they found it by removing any refuse generated no later than 6 p.m. Each vendor will be assessed a $25 fee for the event to cover advertising cost and any unforeseen site cleanup costs. Event fees are due no later than April 15, 2016. Checks should be made out to Michael Wuerthele with “Pittsfield Crafts” written in the memo section on the check. Please send checks to P.O. Box 624, Pittsfield, VT 05762. And, send your craft business name and a one paragraph description of your products which may be used for print advertising.
Any leftover funds will be kept for use for advertising and related expenses for a similar 2017 event if this year’s event is a success. If no successive events are held, the residual funds, if any, will be returned to the vendors of record for the 2016 event.
Memorial Day weekend was chosen for the event because it coincides with a state wide craft fair sponsored by the Vermont Crafts Council (VCC) at member studios. This event is well advertised and draws visitors from Vermont and surrounding states for Saturday and Sunday of this weekend. They hope to attract the attention of people touring the area as they look for VCC advertised artisan/crafts studios throughout the area and along Route 100.
