Saturday, April 2 at 9:30 a.m. — RUTLAND — The Rutland County Caregiver Coalition will be hosting its 12th annual conference, “Caregiving on a Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day,” on Saturday, April 2 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Rutland Regional Medical Center’s CVPS/Leahy Community Education Center in Rutland. The conference is intended for anyone helping to care for an aging, disabled, or chronically ill family member, friend or client.
Keynote speaker Cinda Donton, an eldercare clinician and provider of supportive counseling to caregivers, will address “A Caregiver’s Dilemma: Decisions in a Time of Stress.” Breakout sessions will include learning and practicing self-care techniques including chair yoga with Anne Robbins, tai chi with Nan Hart, and comforting touch with Eva Zivitz and Pam Myers. The conference concludes with a panel discussion addressing attendees’ challenges and questions. Lunch will be provided.
