VFW reminds public of coming Loyalty Day Parade

RUTLAND — The 53rd annual VFW Loyalty Day Parade is coming May 1, and they would like to remind entrants as such. Participants in past parades have included:  military units such as VFW Posts & American Legion Posts; VFW Post 648 Buddy Poppy Princess; American Legion Unit 31 Poppy Princess; high school bands; fire departments; Smokey Bear, Cairo Temple with all their units; old cars, trucks, tractors and motorcycles; Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts; city, state and federal representatives; radio stations, and many more.

Sam Gorruso from Sam’s Good News will emcee at the reviewing stand. Channel 15 will be on hand to tape the parade. This is a fun parade for the whole family.

To participate, please respond no later than Tuesday, April 12 with the following information:

group name, number of people in parade, address, number of vehicles in parade, person in charge, if you will be participating or not, phone number, email address, and how you want to be introduced. Return that information via email to [email protected], or via mail to: Rutland County Post 648, c/o Parade Chairman, 15 Wales St., Rutland, VT 05701. All participants will receive final information letter with map of line-up and parade route approximately one week before parade time.
