MENDON—On Feb. 23, the VBA Board of Managers announced that Therese (Teri) Corsones of Mendon will succeed Robert (Bob) Paolini as executive director of the association, effective May 1, 2016.
Teri Corsones has been a VBA member since 1982, following her graduation from Cornell University Law School that year. Corsones practiced law in Rutland for 25 years in a firm started by her father-in- law, Ted Corsones, with her husband, Cort Corsones, brother-in-law, Chris Corsones, and a number of partners and associates over the years. After Cort’s appointment to the trial bench in 2007, Teri Corsones began work “on the other side of the counter,” and is currently the superior court clerk for the Rutland, Addison, and Bennington units. She sat on the VBA Board from 2003 to 2011, and served as president of the association in 2010-2011. She has served on the Vermont Bar Foundation Board from 2006 to the present, and is currently president of that board. She is co-chair of the VBA Pro Bono Committee, chair of the Mendon Planning Commission, and has been the secretary-treasurer of the Rutland County Bar Association since 1986. Teri also serves on the Judiciary Advisory Council, Technology Oversight Committee, Civil Division Oversight Committee, Vermont Rules of Electronic Filing Committee, and Vermont Communications Support Project Advisory Board.
Bob Paolini has elected to retire this year, after serving for 20 years as the VBA executive director. He will continue to serve the association in the capacity of government affairs coordinator.
