Lt. gov. hopeful Riker hires high-powered campaign manager

Marlboro business man Brandon Riker announced last week that he hired Ben Young to be his campaign manager in his bid for lieutenant governor. The hiring comes six months before the Democratic Primary.

“I am excited to bring on someone with Ben’s experience to run my campaign,” Riker said. “Ben has been involved in campaigns all over the United States, from federal to mayoral, and his track record of running successful campaigns will be a huge asset to our organization. The stakes are just too high for us not to run the most modern campaign in lieutenant governor history, and that’s what I have asked Ben to do.”

Prior to joining the Riker campaign, Ben served as the senior field strategist to the Progressive Change Campaign Committee in its Partnership with Mayday SuperPAC, where he ran the national field program in targeted Senate and Congressional districts across the country.

“When I was offered the opportunity to run Brandon’s campaign, I jumped at the chance. I believe his commitment to working to bring hi-speed internet to every corner of Vermont, creating well-paying jobs for Veramonters and fighting for the middle class is more than just campaign rhetoric,” said Young.

Young continued,“I believe these things are good for Vermont, and I believe Brandon is the candidate that can make them happen.”
