RUTLAND—PEGTV recently announced that it has expanded the scope of its annual PEGTV Courcelle Scholarship to include the entire realm of visual and media arts. Two Rutland County high school seniors have the opportunity to win a $2,000 scholarship to pursue postsecondary education in all areas of television, film, radio, internet, computer animation, graphic arts, sound engineering, photo and print journalism.
The 18th annual PEGTV Courcelle Scholarship honors the memory of Joe Courcelle for his pioneering work in public access television in Rutland. Joe Courcelle was an active member of the original board of directors, a dedicated independent producer, and integral part of the establishment of Rutland’s PEGTV.
A selection committee will review the applications and interview potential candidates. Applications have been sent to Rutland County high schools for distribution to interested candidates and are due by May 1, 2016.
Seniors in high school interested in receiving an application should contact Bryn Williams, PEGTV Channel 20 program coordinator, at (802) 747-0151 or bwilliams@pegtv.com.
