Friday, Feb. 5 at 9 p.m. — CASTLETON — Castleton University presents a diverse night of music as they host Total Backstage Access featuring an eclectic variety of Vermont bands on Friday, Feb. 5 at 9 p.m. in the Casella Theater.
The annual concert has been a tradition for the past ten years, and allows concertgoers an intimate viewing experience as they share the stage with each band, removing the typical barriers between musician and audience.
Kicking off the event is Professor Robert Wuagneaux, singer-songwriter and Castleton University faculty member. Wuagneaux specializes in American roots and rock music and has been featured on NPR.
Also taking the stage is Rutland punk favorites, Get A Grip, who will be rocking the stage with their sonic assault; Totally Submerged, offering original material and classic rock spanning the ‘60’s through the ‘90’s; and the group Alice’s Wonderband.
“We enjoy putting our own touches to each cover, and we love playing for receptive audiences as they dance and sing along,” said Totally Submerged band member Paden Kalinen.
The headliner for the evening is Middlebury-based band Crazyhearse. The group consists of a five piece alt-rock band featuring guitar, bass, banjo, keys, and drums. Their influences include roots rock, folk punk, and gypsy jazz, and are notorious for high-energy shows and infectious melodies, live sets feature original material centered on themes of travel and characters from local folklore.
