Tuesday, Feb. 2 at 7 p.m. — CASTLETON — Castleton welcomes pianist Michael Arnowitt as he present Beethoven and Arnowitt VIII on Tuesday, Feb. 2 at 7 p.m. in the Casella Theater.
Beethoven and Arnowitt is Michael Arnowitt’s final concert series in his 26-year-long odyssey to perform the 32 Beethoven sonatas.
Starting in 1989 when he was 26-years old, Arnowitt began a series of eight concerts, matching up his age as he performed the various sonatas with Beethoven’s age as he composed them. The year 2015 marks the end of the novel study into the psychology of aging and development with a program of Beethoven’s last three piano sonatas op. 109, 110, and 111, universally regarded as among the most spiritual and transcendent music of all time.
Tickets for this performance are $18 for adults, $15 for Castleton faculty, staff, alumni and seniors, and $12 for children under 12. Tickets are available at the Fine Arts Center box office or online at www.castleton.edu/tickets.
