Three males sought in armed robbery at Champlain Beverage

LEICESTER — On Saturday, Jan. 09, at approximately 8:15 p.m., the Vermont State Police responded to Champlain Beverage in the town of Leicester for a reported armed robbery.

Investigation revealed three male subjects entered Champlain Beverage displaying a handgun and ordered the clerk to the floor. The three assailants went behind the counter while the clerk was face down in a prone position and removed the contents from the cash register, police reported. One of the three assailants retrieved several cartons of cigarettes. The three assailants departed the store and dropped one of the carton of cigarettes on the south east side of the parking lot. This evidence was collected and will be tested for latent prints.

The clerk was not injured during the robbery.

The three assailants are described as white males with a medium build, between 5’10 and 6’ tall, wearing dark colored hooded shirts.
