Nov. 27-29 — WESTON — While millions of Americans are cramming themselves into big box stores on the days following Thanksgiving, others will be enjoying a very different shopping experience: the Weston Christmas Bazaar, a Vermont village’s answer to Black Friday.
On Friday and Saturday, Nov. 27 and 28, the 35th annual Christmas Bazaar will take place in the Weston Playhouse. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and there is no admission charge.
Approximately 50 vendors will be occupying booths throughout the building. Almost all are local or regional artisans with crafts on display and most merchandise is Christmas-related: gifts (including for yourself), decorations and even wreaths. Artisanal food vendors will be offering fancy baked goods as well as Vermont-produced maple syrup and vinegars and oils. Lots of clothing items. Artwork and jewelry as well. And a raffle with prizes to be won.
Morning coffee and muffins, a tasty lunch, and afternoon cookies will be available for purchase on the lower level of the Playhouse, provided by the Weston Marketplace.
Shop till you drop? Not at the Christmas Bazaar. Book a chair-massage for revival (and maybe an acting lesson) from Weston Theatre favorite David Bonanno.
The Weston Playhouse is located on the West side of Route 100 in the center of Weston Village.
