Student final exam pitch open to the public
Tuesday, Dec. 1 at 5:15 p.m. — RUTLAND — Castleton University invites local community members to participate in a “Final Exam Pitch” on Tuesday, Dec. 1 at 5:15 p.m. in the Green Mountain Power Energy Innovation Center. Following a similar premise as the ABC television show “Shark Tank,” students in Castleton’s Small Business and Entrepreneurship class will pitch innovative business plans as part of their end of the semester group projects.
Castleton Business Professor John Hoagland has been teaching the Small Business and Entrepreneurship class in Rutland throughout the fall semester. The class focuses on the essentials of starting and managing a small business including raising capital, location analysis, preparation of financial projections, attracting and maintaining customers and employees, and complying with laws and regulations.
A welcome and light dinner will be served at the start of the event, followed by two group presentations and a questions and answer session. Space for this event is limited and reservations are required.
