Friday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. — WEST PAWLET — The annual West Pawlet Volunteer Fire Department turkey raffle event is coming up Friday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. at the West Pawlet firehouse. The doors will open at 6 p.m. Come and learn how to purchase a playing card to participate; cards are 50 cents each or three cards for $1. Twenty seven lucky winners will win a turkey with a bag of potatoes. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. Refreshments — hot dogs, chips, coffee, donuts, soda and water — will be available.
Additionally, tickets are on sale by the fire department for four grand prizes being raffled by the department: first prize – Remington 30-06 Model 7600 Pump Rifle (or $400 cash); second prize – binoculars; third prize – $100 cash; fourth prize – turkey dinner with fixins. Raffle tickets for the grand prizes are $1 each or eight for $5. Grand prize winners will be announced Nov. 21 at the turkey raffle event. One does not need to be present to win.
Ticket proceeds support the fire department’s equipment and training needs. Donations are greatly appreciated. New members are always welcome. The firehouse is located on Route 153 (Main Street), West Pawlet.
