Tuesday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. — CHESTER — All Vermont communities live in a watershed where their economy, environment, and society depend on its health. Two million people live in the Connecticut River Watershed encompassing 11,000 square miles in five states plus the province of Quebec.
On Nov. 17, Ron Rhodes, Connecticut River Watershed steward, will present a wide ranging presentation about the importance of the Conn. watershed. Topics include preparing for floods, reconnecting habitat for fish, keeping sewage out of the river, the iconic Connecticut River Paddlers trail, and major challenges facing the river.
Rhodes will also discuss how the Connecticut River Watershed Council has been working on the restoration of the chemical, physical, and biological integrity of the river.
The presentation will take place on Nov. 17 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the First Universalist Parish, 211 North Street (Route 103 North) in Chester.
The presentation is free and open to the public.
