Saturday, Nov. 7 at 3 p.m. — WOODSTOCK — The 6th Annual Woodstock Vermont Film Series at the Billings Farm & Museum will feature the award-winning documentary “Meru” on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 3 p.m. Fifteen films and documentaries from around the world have been selected for the big screen in the museum’s theater, with high definition digital projection and Dolby™ surround-sound. All films are open to the public and accessible to people with disabilities. Reservations are strongly recommended.
About “Meru”: Three elite climbers struggle to find their way through obsession and loss as they attempt to climb the Shark’s Fin on 21,000-foot Mount Meru, one of the most coveted prizes in the high stakes game of Himalayan big-wall climbing. Located at the headwaters of the sacred Ganges River in northern India, the Shark’s Fin – 1,500 feet of smooth, nearly featureless granite – has seen more failed attempts by elite climbing teams over the past 30 years than any other ascent in the Himalayas. The film is rated R, and has won awards at Sundance Film Festival: Audience Award, Best Documentary and Grand Jury Prize nomination.
