Saturday, Nov. 7 at 11 a.m. — RUTLAND — The Rutland Area VNA & Hospice (RAVNAH) presents its first annual Veterans’ Community Expo on Saturday, Nov. 7 at the American Legion Post 31 in Rutland.
More than half of America’s veterans say they have little or no understanding of the benefits due them, and many are especially unaware of the many health and human services available right here in our community. RAVNAH Hospice’s Veterans’ Community Expo aims to educate veterans about the many services, programs and resources available to them. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
Sponsored by the Rutland Regional Medical Center, the Expo will feature more than 15 agencies from the area who will speak to veterans about housing, drug and alcohol counseling, health benefits, transportation, senior services, hospice care, community health, massage and Reiki, advance directives, and more. Attendees will also be the first to experience “Veterans’ Voices,” a compilation of taped interviews with veterans who shared their experiences and stories, as told in their own words.
