Local artist presents “Town and Country” exhibit
Friday, Nov. 6 at 6 p.m. — RUTLAND — The Castleton Downtown Gallery in Rutland will feature the works of local artist Donald Saaf running from Oct.28 through Nov. 28, with an artist reception scheduled for Friday, Nov. 6 at 6 p.m. Entitled “Town and Country” the exhibit will feature a variety of works using mixed media including paint, fabric and pencils.
“This new body of work is a continuance of my pursuit to create a relevant modern day ‘folk’ painting. Paintings that tell stories and reflect the dreamlike nature of everyday life,” said Saaf. “Using paint, fabric and pencils, I build up the images alternating between layers of dark and light values followed by layers of transparent colors.”
The Castleton Downtown Gallery is located on Center Street Alley in Rutland and is open Wednesday through Saturday with hours of operation from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
