MSJ’s Bryn McClallen, the Vermont Sports Media Association’s August Athlete of the Month

RUTLAND—The Vermont Sports Media Association has named Mount Saint Joseph Academy’s Sally Hogan (Class of ’15) and Bryn McClallen (Class of ’17) as its female athletes of the month for July and August, respectively. This prestigious statewide award is given to just one male and one female athlete in Vermont each month.

Ms. Hogan received the award for her MVP performance in the Vermont-New Hampshire Twin State basketball game, where she led the all-star team, scoring ten points. She was a tri-captain of the MSJ women’s Division IV state championship basketball team. Ms. Hogan was the salutatorian of the 2015 graduating class and is attending Elmira College on a full academic scholarship.

Ms. McClallen won the honor for her soccer accomplishments. She scored two goals in the Mounties’ win over Leland and Gray, which plays in a higher division than MSJ. Though only a junior, she has already reached the 100 point milestone in her varsity soccer career.

Mount Saint Joseph Academy is a college preparatory Catholic high school located at 127 Convent Ave., Rutland, Vt., specializing in educating the mind and spirit for more than a century. MSJ has a long tradition of students who both excel academically and participate in numerous sports and extracurricular activities.
