Rutland’s Saskia Hagen Groom helps to launch new youth theatre in Dorset

The Long Trail Youth Theater is ready for take-off in Southern Vermont with year-round workshops and productions.

Long Trail School is excited to announce Long Trail Youth Theater (LTYT), a new theater program for children in grades K through 12, beginning Oct. 19 with intensive workshops.

Children are grouped by grade level: Theater Fun for grades K-2 (Mondays-Wednesdays afternoons 3:30-5:30 p.m.), Theater Workshop for grades 3-6 (Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:30-5:30 p.m.) and a Theater Arts Series for grades 7-12 (Oct. 24, Nov. 14 and Dec. 5). No previous theater experience is necessary.

Artistic Director Saskia Hagen Groom has many years of theater experience and is the artistic director/producer for Rutland Youth Theatre in Central Vermont. She is thrilled to help launch Long Trail Youth Theater and to offer these opportunity in Southern Vermont.

Fall programs lead into December auditions for a February 2016 production of  “The Lion King, Jr. – The Musical.”
