Twin boys explore play with musical instruments at a prior Building Bright Futures event.
Saturday, Oct. 17 at 10 a.m. — RUTLAND — Play prepares a young brain for life, love, and even schoolwork. To celebrate the benefits of play, Rutland Building Bright Futures (BBF) is holding its third annual Free Family Fun Time community event, “Just Play? No Way!” on Saturday, Oct. 17 from 10 a.m. to 12-noon at Rutland Regional Medical Center in the CVPS-Leahy Community Health Education Center, 160 Allen Street, Rutland. Look for the signs on Allen Street!
This year’s theme is “Highlighting Healthy Brain Development in Young Children through Play.” Stations will be set up featuring lots of creative hands on activities involving art, music, reading, exercise, health, and nutrition. Snacks and beverages will be provided in addition to door prize giveaways, and free stuff, including community information from local organizations and businesses participating in the event. Parents, families, and community members are encouraged to attend.
