Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 1 p.m. — CASTLETON — The Castleton Community Center is pleased to add a new and exciting offering to its educational programming. This fall, Joe Mark will facilitate a course entitled The Skeptic’s Guide to American History.
This course, produced by The Great Courses® is based on lectures by Mark A. Stoler, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus at UVM, prolific author, and acknowledged expert on several topics of American history. Most recently, Dr. Stoler finished editing the papers of George C. Marshall.
The course will meet at the Center on Wednesdays from 1 to 2:30 p.m., with the first class on Oct. 7 and the last class on Dec. 23. Each session will begin with attendees watching a 30-minute lecture by Dr. Stoler. The rest of the meeting time will consist of discussion among participants, facilitated by Joe Mark. Registration for this course is free, although voluntary donations may permit purchase of additional Great Courses® DVD series.
