Sept. 5 and 6 — PLYMOUTH NOTCH — The President Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site hosts the 11th annual Plymouth Folk & Blues Concerts on Labor Day weekend, Sept. 5 and 6, 2 to 5 p.m. each day. The event teams Vermont stars and nationally known musicians in a lively folk and blues festival held in the pure country air of historic Plymouth Notch. The concerts are free; a donation is suggested.

Night Stage Jam Session/Open Mic with Jay Ottaway, 8-11 p.m. at Ramunto’s Pizza, Bridgewater (all are welcome to play and listen).

Hayley Jane and The Primates, 4-5 p.m.
This year’s festival also features a food drive for the Vermont Food Bank (please bring non-perishable food items). Other highlights: face painting and children’s arts and crafts, wagon rides on Saturday, and barbecues at the Coolidge Site restaurant, The Wilder House.
Arrive a bit early on Saturday for a performance of Shakespeare Alive! at the Union Christian Church. This talented group from New York City will present a rollicking “bard-based variety show” at noon. Donations appreciated, this program is coordinated by the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Foundation. The Plymouth Folk & Blues Concerts are organized by Jay Ottaway and the Vermont Division for Historic Preservation. The concerts are held rain or shine.
