Wednesday, Aug. 19 — RUTLAND – The Paramount Theatre and Castleton University are pleased to invite interested members of the community and members of the media to take part in a multimedia presentation of an unprecedented collaboration celebrating the 240th year of our republic.
“Project 240,” the culmination of nine months of planning between The Paramount and Castleton, will be unveiled at a press conference/public gathering at The Paramount on Aug. 19 at 5:30 p.m.
The series of 17 events will span 14 months and exist at the intersection of civic engagement, education, and entertainment. All except three of the events will be free, and participants can expect a range of programming featuring nationally prominent participants, public discourse, patriotic music, satirical theatre, and more.
Please join The Paramount and Castleton for the unveiling of this unique collaboration. The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. with cocktails and light appetizers from Roots Restaurant. At 6 p.m. the multimedia presentation will begin and at 6:30 p.m. participants will have the opportunity to engage in a Q&A with Bruce Bouchard, executive director at The Paramount Theatre and Rich Cowden, director of the Fine Arts Center at Castleton University.
