Motorcyclist injured after colliding with turning truck

GRANVILLE—On July 24 at about 3 p.m. Vermont State Police, White River Valley Ambulance, and Granville Fire Department were dispatched to a vehicle versus motorcycle accident with injury on Route 100 in Granville.

Upon arrival it was found that the operator of a 2005 BMW motorcycle, Denver Wilson, age 33, of Swanton, Vt., had sustained a head injury in the crash. The DHART helicopter was requested and it responded to transport Wilson to Dartmouth-Hitchcock. The driver of the other vehicle, a 2002 Chevy S-10, was identified as Kristoffer Williams, age 32, of Brandon, Vt. Williams was not injured.

Preliminary investigation showed that Wilson was traveling southbound on Route 100 and Williams was traveling northbound. When Williams made a left hand turn from Route 100 into a private driveway he turned in front of Wilson, causing him to collide into the passenger side of the truck, throwing Wilson into the air and onto the pavement.

Route 100 was reduced to one lane while the crash was investigated.
