Saturday, July 25 at 9:30 a.m. — BELMONT — The 9th annual Mount Holly Garden Tour will be held on Saturday, July 25 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. This is a self-guided tour of diverse, high altitude gardens, including a wide range of perennials, organic vegetables, and truly creative landscaping ideas. Depending on the gardens in the line-up this year, participants might enjoy a 12’ topiary elephant, strolls through peaceful woodland gardens, or beautiful vistas from upland gardens. Many gardeners have designed their gardens around natural features in the landscape. In one of the gardens that is on the tour almost every year, see displayed among the flower beds a dozen or so colorful quilts! This gardener is not just a master gardener, but a master quilter as well.
If you have children in tow, there is a special “Garden Hunt” for all the children who want to participate. It will keep them busy in whatever garden participants are exploring.
Tickets and a map of the garden sites can be purchased the day of the tour at the Mount Holly Library & Community Center on the Green in Belmont for $12 (children 12 and under are free). The Garden Hunt guides can also be picked up then. Garden Tour lunches will be available from the Belmont General Store, to be taken for picnicking along the tour. The tour goes on rain or shine.
