Friday, July 24 at 6 p.m. — CASTLETON — The Castleton Downtown Gallery in Rutland will feature the works of local Vermont artists Denis Versweyveld and Judith Rey running from July 15 through Aug. 15, with an artist reception scheduled for Friday, July 24 at 6 p.m. Entitled “A Sense of Place,” the exhibit will feature paintings, drawings, sculptures and mixed media pieces.
“Place is much more than the geographical coordinates of latitude and longitude. It is more than the physical constructs of mountains, fields, rivers, or of buildings, roads and bridges. Place is about the experience of people within this environment. To have a full sense of place is it necessary to understand the human interaction within the environment and to bring it to a level of conscious awareness,” said Denis Versweyveld and Judith Rey of their exhibit.
The Castleton Downtown Gallery is located on Center Street Alley in Rutland and is open Wednesday through Saturday with hours of operation from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
