Ruth Raymond Jones Memorial Seniors’ Championship

KILLINGTON — Wednesday and Thursday, July 15-16, Green Mountain National Golf Club in Killington will host the Ruth Raymond Jones Memorial Seniors’ Championship, a 36-hole stroke play tournament with a field of 100 players aged 55 and older.

With six-time champion Reggie Parker and the 2013 Champion Mari Harter not entered this year, Marjorie Kaat of Ekwanok Country Club in Manchester, Vt., and Jeanne Morrissey of Williston, Vt., figure to be the top two contenders. Kaat has the lowest handicap in the field with a GHIN index of 4.2 closely followed by Morrissey with an index of 6.0. Patti Haas of Killington and Susie Bremner of Rocky Ridge are also strong contenders. Other contenders include Cynthia Borck of Stowe, Sheila Darrah of Copley, Mary Jane Shomo of Rutland and Rhonda Colvard of Burlington.
