Thursday, July 23 — RUTLAND — Christ the King School and Mount Saint Joseph Academy will hold their seventh annual Honor Our Past event at the Rutland Holiday Inn on July 23. Over the years, this event has raised tens of thousands of dollars for scholarships for MSJ and CKS students. It has also turned out to be a grand reunion for supporters of the schools.
This year’s honorees are Diane Valente Liscinsky, Dr. William O’Rourke, Jr., and Father Richard Tinney.
Diane Valente Liscinsky (MSJ ‘55) served as the receptionist and administrative secretary at MSJ for nearly three decades. She was also a CKS and MSJ parent and, with her late husband Bob Liscinsky, owned the Carriage Room, a gathering place for friends of the Mount.
Dr. William O’Rourke, Jr. (MSJ ‘49) was also a MSJ and CKS parent. He served on the MSJ and CKS School Boards, helped organize the original Green Wave Golf tournaments, and was a team physician for many years at MSJ football, basketball, and hockey games.
Father Richard Tinney (MSJ ‘57) has ministered to the people of Vermont as a priest for over fifty years! He was a member of the MSJ School Board and continues to be an active supporter of Catholic education.
