A hot dog eating contest is part of the fun at Okemo’s Great American Party, a celebration of Independence Day.
Saturday, July 4 at 12 p.m. — LUDLOW, Vt. – Okemo Mountain Resort will celebrate Independence Day, July 4, with the return of the Great American Party presented by Kelley Powersports. This event includes a free concert with the Sullivan-Davis-Hanscom Band and the Rick Davis Experience. The festivities will begin at noon with a barbecue and fun family games and activities, plus Okemo’s Adventure Zone will be open for lots of high-flying family fun.
Okemo’s Jackson Gore Inn courtyard will be transformed into an all-American Fourth of July party complete with midway games, a 25-foot inflatable water slide, an obstacle course, a dunk tank, a hot dog eating contest and more. Okemo’s culinary staff will be serving up some cold refreshments and fresh-from-the-grill burgers, hot dogs and other summertime favorites. Party-goers can opt for full-service dining with al fresco seating at Jackson Gore’s Coleman Brook Tavern. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets for seating on the lawn in front of the concert stage where two bands will provide a patriotic soundtrack to the day’s activities.
Okemo’s Adventure Zone will be open with Sawyer’s Sweep Zipline Tours, Lumberin’ Cal Miniature Golf, Segway PT tours, the Haulback Challenge Course, Timber Ripper Mountain Coaster, the Amp Energy Big Air Bag and more.
