A Red Knights driver and his young co-rider give a thumbs up before a departure.

Friday, June 26 at 6 p.m. — RUTLAND — Get your motor running, because this year the Red Knights (firefighters) Motorcycle Club, Vermont Chapter III will be hosting the annual “Ride for the Dodge House” in conjunction with the RRMC Hometown Heroes Night at Devil’s Bowl Speedway on June 26.

All riders are welcome and encouraged to participate in this important fundraiser for the Dodge House (the displaced U.S. Veterans home located at 95 Crescent Street in Rutland). The cost is $10 per bike (riders included), but additional donations are also welcomed and encouraged to support this needed veterans facility in the community. The registration fee includes free  admission to the races at Devil’s Bowl Speedway that evening.

The RKMC VTIII ride will be escorted by Rutland County Sheriff Steve Benard and firetrucks from several towns along the route.

As a special bonus, all registered riders will be allowed to join a firetruck-escorted laps around the race track as part of the RRMC Hometown Heroes Night opening ceremonies at the race track.

Registration and departure will be from the lower parking lot off Allen Street at the Rutland Regional Medical Center (RRMC) and will begin staging at 6 p.m. and “kick stands up” departure at 6:30 p.m. Planned arrival at the Speedway is at 7 p.m. followed by laps around the track. There will be pre-arranged bike parking and free entrance to the races. For info, go to rutlandvermont.com or call 800-756-8880.
